etc popup).īasically right now I'm just looking for a way to loop those 3000 words into Keepasss automatically, lol. I could write a bash script, but when I the password is incorrect I'm unable to close the currently running Keepass, which in turn causes the next word attempt to not be successful (since I'm stuck at the incorrect composite key. Unfortunately I'm not sure on how to automate the process. I actually have a list of about 3000 words (I generated them through a script) that I would like to try. I haven't tried just using hashcat, not sure if it would actually work. I have the list and possible variation of each word that I want to input to a program of some sort that can then try each generated password (or at least print it out so I can try it myself)īut since the database was made in KeepassXC I get the 40000 version not supported on the johntheripper step. If anyone can point me to the right direction, I would be certainly grateful. So for example if my word list is "The key to freedom" I want it to try all variations like "Th3key2Freedom", "TheKeyTOfre3d0m", etc. and so on.įreedom: Fr33dom, Fr3edom, fre3d0m, FrEeDoM, so on. Tl dr: Forgot the password to my keepass database, wrote an AppleScript to automate bruteforce using a list of word since JTR/Hashcat does not work for my database (version currently unsupported or something)įor example, for the word "The" I want it to try: The, Th3, the, th3Īnd the word "Key" I want it to try K3y, KEY, K3Y, k3Y, key, k3y, K, Q, q, k.
